Bought this case for an Ipod Touch 3rd Gen model. Rubber case covers the back and top edges of the ipod and make holding onto it easier. Fairly easy to put on and take off. Was not impressed with the 1 screen protector that comes with it–was very difficult to apply satisfactorily and I ended up buying a 5 pack of DLO brand screen protectors from Best Buy that were much easier to apply. Overall, I would recommend this case. Hopefully, you will have better luck with the screen protector than I did.

I really like the case. It adds just the right amount of thickness to the Touch. It seems to protect well with the combination of plastic and rubber/silicone. Fits the ipod touch 3G perfectly. This is not a case that you are going to take off a lot. It is VERY snug. I have not tried it with many of the accessories, so I cannot speak to whether it has to be removed for dock type accessories.
I would buy it again. I cannot give much better of an endorsement than that.

I really didn’t like having my Ipod Touch naked. The polished stainless steel back of it would get finger smudges very easily and would feel a bit awkward when you held the Touch in your hands.
This case has just complete protection of your Touch and doesn’t really add much bulk to it.

The Speck CandyShell is a well designed case for the iPod Touch 3G. It covers the iPod, and protects from impacts. I’ve had one major drop onto asphalt in a parking lot. The iPod landed solidly on one of the corners, and would certainly have been damaged if not for this case. The case took a minor scuff to the bottom corner, but still looks good.
I have the black and grey finish, and it’s held up pretty well so far. Since it’s a shiny finish, it’s developed some scuffs and scratches on it, but it’s protecting the iPod inside. And that’s what counts.
If you need to remove your iPod from the case frequently, I might not recommend this case. It’s somewhat hard to remove, and I wonder if repeated removal might eventually damage the case. I don’t use a dock, so this has not been a problem for me. You’ll also find that some of the fatter headset connectors might interfere with the case. I had to change the line in cable on one of our cars, because the connecter was too fat to clear the edges of the case. But most of the cables that you’ll buy these days should work without problems.
The case came with a screen protector which I tried out, but decided not to use. It had a very subtle pattern to it, which detracted from the view of the screen. It’s also very hard to apply these without at least one bubble in them somewhere, which would drive me nuts. Since the screen is glass, I’m not that worried about damaging it.
The buttons are fully covered with this case, but I’ve not found them difficult to use at all. They’re easy to find by touch, and are still pretty easy to push.
All in all, a good case for my iPod touch. It comes in lots of colors, it’s reasonably priced, protects well, and is pretty durable so far. I would have considered a five star review for this case, but since it’s the first one I’ve gotten for my iPod, I thought I didn’t have enough experience to rate it higher.
